I haven't been able to reproduce it - as I can't think how to deliberately generate a warning without waiting for a session to timeout. I could then login - at which point the plugin icon went red, and all seemed well again. Install the LastPass browser extension in Firefox, and use the Import option to transfer your existed saved passwords and logins to LastPass. The work around was to right-click on the extension to bring up a context menu, click on "lastpass", which opened the full vault in a new tab. However when I clicked on it to log back in - the animating safe appeared - and never disappeared (well - not within about 30 or 40 seconds, which was the longest my patience would last). Last pass's extension goes yellow to display a warning (not unusual either - annoying, because it doesn't really achieve anything, but not unusual). Problem is - my session timed out (nothing unusual). For example when you first sign in at the start of a new session. In the latest version of the LastPass extension for firefox (as of today or yesterday I think) at various times a little animation of a safe gets displayed, with the wheel on the front twirling around. Tl:dr - when a yellow warning is displayed in the Firefox LastPass extension, the new animated safe thing doesn't go away, so you can't dismiss the warning.
